Pas m\u00eame Fen\u00adder. Il s\u2019a\u00adgit de l\u2019ex\u00adten\u00adsion du registre de la basse \u00e9lec\u00adtrique vers les \u201ctr\u00e8s graves\u201d. Jus\u00adqu\u2019i\u00adci, on se conten\u00adtait g\u00e9n\u00e9\u00adra\u00adle\u00adment de des\u00adcendre sa corde de Mi en R\u00e9, comme par exemple James Jamer\u00adson sur <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UQU4sIn96M4\"><em>What Become of the Bro\u00adken Hear\u00adted<\/em><\/a> chan\u00adt\u00e9 par Jim\u00admy Ruf\u00adfin ou plus tard Roger Waters sur <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YR5ApYxkU-U\"><em>Ano\u00adther Brick in the Wall Part 2<\/em><\/a> de Pink&nbsp;Floyd.<\/p>\n<p>Certes, il faut recon\u00adna\u00eetre \u00e0 Fen\u00adder d\u2019a\u00advoir eu l\u2019au\u00addace de pro\u00adpo\u00adser, conco\u00admi\u00adtam\u00adment au rachat de la firme par le groupe CBS, une basse \u00e0 registre \u00e9ten\u00addu vers l\u2019ai\u00adgu, pro\u00adpo\u00adsant un Do aigu&nbsp;: la raris\u00adsime Fen\u00adder V, basse \u00e0 dia\u00adpa\u00adson court de forme assez dis\u00adgra\u00adcieuse mais qui aura sus\u00adci\u00adt\u00e9 les atten\u00adtions de James Jamer\u00adson (comme basse d\u2019exer\u00adcice) et de John Paul Jones. Inutile de pr\u00e9\u00adci\u00adser que ce mod\u00e8le sera un \u00e9chec com\u00admer\u00adcial. D\u2019autres com\u00admandes de bas\u00adsistes seront pas\u00ads\u00e9es aupr\u00e8s du luthier Tobias dans les ann\u00e9es sui\u00advantes. Cette demande \u00e9tant ce qu\u2019elle \u00e9tait, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire une com\u00admande de bas\u00adsistes che\u00advron\u00adn\u00e9s et recon\u00adnus aupr\u00e8s de luthiers inven\u00adtifs et pr\u00eats \u00e0 acc\u00e9\u00adder aux requ\u00eates les plus exi\u00adgeantes, le tout-venant de la basse va emprun\u00adter quelques che\u00admins vici\u00adnaux avant de se voir pro\u00adpo\u00adser des mod\u00e8les fabri\u00adqu\u00e9s \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle. Sur ce der\u00adnier point, l\u2019in\u00addus\u00adtrie ins\u00adtru\u00admen\u00adtale japo\u00adnaise va impo\u00adser ses stan\u00addards \u00e0 une indus\u00adtrie am\u00e9\u00adri\u00adcaine pas peu fi\u00e8re de ses trouvailles.\n<p>Mais en atten\u00addant, les bas\u00adsistes rusent, avec ou sans l\u2019aide de luthiers, pour trans\u00adfor\u00admer leur quatre cordes en cinq. Dif\u00adfi\u00adcile d\u2019a\u00advoir ces \u00e9l\u00e9\u00adments, qui ne sont gu\u00e8re consi\u00adgn\u00e9s dans des livres, autre\u00adment que par le biais des forums de musi\u00adciens ou des publi\u00adci\u00adt\u00e9s de magazines.<\/p>\n<p>Tre\u00advor Wil\u00adkin\u00adson a par exemple pro\u00adpo\u00ads\u00e9 dans les ann\u00e9es 1980 un kit de conver\u00adsion 4+1 pour conver\u00adtir sa basse \u00e0 la 5e corde grave. Le <em>synth bass<\/em> domine les ann\u00e9es 1980&nbsp;: lourd, puis\u00adsant et pr\u00e9\u00adcis, il pro\u00adpose dif\u00adf\u00e9\u00adrents timbres ins\u00adtru\u00admen\u00adtaux et per\u00admet d\u2019\u00e9\u00adtendre consi\u00add\u00e9\u00adra\u00adble\u00adment le registre tonal. J\u2019en veux pour exemple le suc\u00adc\u00e8s des pro\u00adduc\u00adtions de Quin\u00adcy Jones, comme <em>Thril\u00adler<\/em> de Michael Jack\u00adson ou <em>It\u2019s Your Night<\/em> de James Ingram. Le groupe de funk synth D\u2011Train sous la hou\u00adlette de <a title=\"Hubert Eaves III\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hubert_Eaves_III\">Hubert Eaves III<\/a> donne le ton avec <em>Music<\/em> d\u00e8s&nbsp;1983.<\/p>\n<p>Fen\u00adder, qui rate \u00e9ga\u00adle\u00adment le tour\u00adnant des basses \u00e0 \u00e9lec\u00adtro\u00adnique active, ne pro\u00adpose h\u00e9las rien de neuf en terme de basses. Il faut dire que Bill Schultz, avec l\u2019aide de quelques employ\u00e9s de Fen\u00adder alors en total faillite, a rache\u00adt\u00e9 le stock Fen\u00adder qu\u2019il fait assem\u00adbler dans des usines japo\u00adnaises, dont la mythique Fuji Gen Gak\u00adki. De leur propre aveu, \u00e0 la r\u00e9cep\u00adtion des gui\u00adtares assem\u00adbl\u00e9es et finies par les nip\u00adpons (sous la marque Squier), ils en ont pleu\u00adr\u00e9 tant le tra\u00advail \u00e9tait superbe. Ce rap\u00adpro\u00adche\u00adment de Fen\u00adder avec les grands fac\u00adteurs d\u2019ins\u00adtru\u00adments de musique de la puis\u00adsance japo\u00adnaise est d\u00e9ter\u00admi\u00adnant pour les trente ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir. C\u2019est le busi\u00adness japo\u00adnais qui va d\u00e9pas\u00adser et mode\u00adler par cons\u00e9\u00adquent l\u2019in\u00addus\u00adtrie musi\u00adcale am\u00e9\u00adri\u00adcaine, tan\u00adt\u00f4t de fa\u00e7on rude sous forme de menace des savoir-faire (en pro\u00adpo\u00adsant des copies exactes, pour\u00adsui\u00advies en jus\u00adtice et connues sous l\u2019ap\u00adpel\u00adla\u00adtion \u201cLaw Suit\u201d d\u00e9sor\u00admais pri\u00ads\u00e9es et sujettes \u00e0 sp\u00e9\u00adcu\u00adla\u00adtions), tan\u00adt\u00f4t en pro\u00adpo\u00adsant des alter\u00adna\u00adtives innovantes.<\/p>\n<p>C\u2019est donc Yama\u00adha qui pr\u00e9\u00adfi\u00adgure le lan\u00adce\u00adment de basses \u00e0 cinq cordes \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9\u00adchelle indus\u00adtrielle. Par\u00admi leurs ambas\u00adsa\u00addeurs, on trouve le bas\u00adsiste et lea\u00adder du groupe l\u00e9gen\u00addaire japo\u00adnais de musique jazz-fusion pro\u00adgres\u00adsive Casio\u00adpea, Tes\u00adtuo Saku\u00adrai, mais aus\u00adsi Nathan East, bas\u00adsiste de R&amp;B nour\u00adri aux lignes de Chuck Rai\u00adney et James Jamer\u00adson ain\u00adsi que le bas\u00adsiste de jazz John Pati\u00adtuc\u00adci, for\u00adm\u00e9 \u00e0 la contre\u00adbasse et tr\u00e8s deman\u00add\u00e9 dans les ses\u00adsions de musique pop et rock (de Eve\u00adry\u00adthing but the Girl \u00e0 Roger Waters).
